Select Projects
Nathan brought together friends The Flaming Lips and Google to create a one-of-a kind performance mixing a bowl of fruit, AI, and the crowd.
Nathan led a five person agency to a Grand Prix at Cannes with the Nike Chalkbot. Chalkbot changed the industry and was named one of the best campaigns of the decade by One Club and was also named Best of Show by One Club with numerous awards from design and marketing organizations like Communication Arts. Chalkbot was named Most Contagious by the boutique industry magazine Contagious.
Nathan helped to launch the Netflix Socks. The much awarded project solved a common complaint by allowing fans to pause their favorite show when they fall asleep. This won a number of awards and gained over 2 Billion earned media impressions.
Nathan first made his name hacking Nintendo Gameboy cartridges and exhibited internationally with the art collective Carbon Defense League. Simultaneously, he fronted the hardcore band Creation is Crucifixion, which explored the rise of the data body and artificial intelligence (in the 90s!).
Nathan co-founded Deeplocal while artist-in-residence at The STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at Carnegie Mellon. Deeplocal crashed into advertising in 2009 with the Nike Chalkbot – the first use of robotics in advertising and winner of the Cannes Lions Cyber Grand Prix. Deeplocal has won numerous awards including Ad Age's Small Agency of the Year, Webby’s Shorty’s, One Show, SEGD, and more; and Nathan was named CEO of the Year by Pittsburgh Technology Council. Nathan remains true to his punk rock roots and fostered the same blue-collar, DIY spirit at Deeplocal, which he left in 2024.
